Bhubaneswar: $ 4,000 crore is being invested in the country’s gas pipeline, city gas distribution, LNG, re-gasification terminals and gas infrastructure, said Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Speaking at a function on the occasion of the founding week of the Industrial Association of Assocham, he said that the target is to set up 5,000 CBG plants in the coming days with an investment of about $ 2,000 crore and produce 15 million tonnes of CBG annually. To date, 1,500 CBG plants have been commissioned, he said. Efforts are underway for energy exploration and production, refineries, biofuels, strategic petroleum reserves, LNNG capacity building, research and development (R&D).
