The Shanta Kumar Committee recommended that the remaining grains be sold or exported in the open market. But that did not apply. The FCCI has also failed to properly manage warehouse capacity. The SBI report also said that the amount of loans brought by the FFCI from the National Small Savings Scheme (GFSI) has also been reduced. The central government aims to increase the export of agricultural products to $ 6,000 crore by 2022. So far, 14 states have announced their agricultural export policies. Others are in various stages of formulating the policy, the report said.
