Bhubaneswar: A seismic survey will be conducted by OL7 India Limited in seven districts of the state to find oil and gas in the Mahanadi basin. These districts are Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Baleshwar. A comprehensive exploration drilling campaign will be launched with a total investment of Rs 126 crore, including Rs 220 crore in the seismic survey. Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the campaign through video conferencing from New Delhi today. A seismic survey has been launched in the Mahanadi Basin and adjoining areas of Kakatpur in Puri district to find oil and gas under the Open Extraction Licensing Policy (OALP). Mr. Pradhan said that in the first phase of oil and gas exploration in the third round of Oil India Limited OLAP, the survey work on 3,000 sq km for 5 blocks of Odisha has been started from today. If the exploration is successful, commercial production of oil and gas in the Mahanadi Basin and adjoining areas will emerge as a message of change for the social and economic development of Odisha. The Union Minister hopes that the campaign will be a milestone in exploration, production and conservation of hydrocarbons in the river basin and adjoining areas. New Delhi: The Ministry of Petroleum has signed four MoUs to set up 400 compressed bio-gas (CBG) plants in the country. Organizations such as JBM Group, Adani Gas, and Torrent Gas will set up the plants. Indian9 Oil, Praj Industries, CID Consultant and Bharat BioGas will provide energy technology. On the occasion, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that 5,000 CBG plants would be set up in the country by 2023-28 with an investment of around Rs 2 lakh crore.
