New Delhi: In today’s digital age, the emphasis is on digital performance rather than paper everywhere. The same thing applies with insurance. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has advised insurance companies to issue policies to customers through Dieselkar. This is according to sources in the Ministry of Electronics and IT. “In order to encourage the use of diesel in the country’s insurance sector, all insurance companies should integrate their IT systems with the benefits of diesel,” the IRDAI said. This will allow policyholders to store their insurance policy documents in diesel. The circular was issued by the IRDAI on the 8th of this month. Not only that, the insurance companies will also inform their policyholders about the diesel. It also says it will be aware of how to use it. Dieselkar’s Team8, which works in the National e-Governance Division of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, has also been asked to provide the necessary technical advice and assistance on how to use Dieselkar extensively. As a result, data can be stored electronically instead of paper. “It simply came to our notice then. Customers no longer have to take paperwork with them. Increasing the use of diesel in the insurance sector will reduce costs. Complaints about non-availability of policy copies will be reduced. In addition, insurance services can be provided in a short period of time. Similarly, consumers will be able to resolve their grievances in less time. Conflicts and frauds will be reduced. Communication with customers is said to be easier.
