Three state-owned companies, Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, are selling more oil in the country. The three companies have a large number of petrol pumps across the country. There is a change in oil prices every day at 8am. Oil companies are setting oil prices in the international market based on the price of crude oil per barrel and the exchange rate of the dollar against the US dollar. The main reasons for the rise in oil prices in the country now are the rise in crude oil prices, weak currency exchange rates and local taxes. Brent crude is currently priced at $ 6.35 per barrel. The rupee is priced at Rs 4.75 against the US dollar.
