Bhubaneswar: On the last day of withdrawal of candidatures for the Balasore and Tirthol Assembly by-elections, there are 15 candidates in the polls. According to a press release issued by the state Chief Electoral Officer, four candidates are contesting for the Balasore Assembly constituency.They are Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Manas Kumar Dutt, Biju Janata Dal’s Swarup Kumar Das, Indian National Congress’s Mamata Kundu, independent candidate Bhagyadut Daspattanayak, independent candidate Benudhar Barik and independent candidate Mohammad Numan Khan. Similarly, a total of six candidates are running for the Tirthol Assembly constituency. They are Rajkishore Behera of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Biju Janata Dal candidate Bijay Shankar Das, Indian Congress candidate Himanshu Bhushan Mallick, Communist Party of India candidate Bijay Kumar Vhoi, independent candidate Arjun Charan Behera, independent candidate Ramesh Chandra Mallick, independent candidate Rabindranath Tagore. Candidate Golap Manjari Vhoi and independent candidate Sachitra Mallick.
