Dubai: The ICC and BCCI countdowns have begun ahead of Diwali for the next edition of the Twenty20 World Cup to be held in India. India is now celebrating the festive season, with only 12 months to go before the Twenty20 World Cup 2021. The countdown was set to begin two days later, with 14 teams branding in Dubai in the presence of BCCI president Sourav Ganguly. As the Twenty20 World Cup returns to India four years later, the BCCI will try its best to make it a success, ”Ganguly and BCCI editor Jay Shah said on the occasion. This will also be the first ICC tournament since the unexpected success of the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup in Australia this year. Sixteen teams will take part in the 2021 World Cup in 2021. They are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, Namibia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. The 2021 edition of the Fastball Cricket World Cup is scheduled to be played from October 16 to November 15.
