Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas passed away. He was ill for a long time and was under treatment. He was 72 years old at the time of his death.
His daughter Nayab Udhas issued a statement informing about his death. “We are saddened to inform you of the passing away of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 after a long illness,” he said in a further statement.
Pankaj Udhas Charan was born on 17 May 1951. He became popular as a ghazal singer. In the world of Indian music, he has been compared to other famous ghazal singers like Talat Aziz and Jagjit Singh. He has sung many popular songs in Bollywood.
Pankaj Udhas passed away today at 11 am in Mumbai. A few days ago, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. He breathed his last in this hospital. According to reports, Pankaj Udhas was suffering from cancer for a few months and was not seeing anyone for the past few months. His last rites will be held in Mumbai tomorrow.
