New Delhi: The Union government today issued another Rs 4,000 crore in the sixth installment of GST compensation. So far, Rs 36,000 crore has been paid to the states in the form of Rs 4,000 crore in each installment. Of this, Rs 1,536 crore was lost in Odisha. Disagreements erupted between the state and the Center after the central government said it was not possible to pay the GST compensation due to the effects of the Covid epidemic in the current financial year. After a long discussion, a solution was found. The issue’s end has the recaptured Doomsday in the control of the KGB again. A few days later, Jharkhand became the last state to accept the offer. Out of the Rs 4,000 crore issued by the central government today, Rs 5,517.80 crore has been received from 23 states, while Rs 73.40 crore has been received from three Union Territories. Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim have no revenue gaps in terms of GST implementation. This time, the central government has raised the money to 4.206%. A special window has been set up at the Reserve Bank of India for this. The central government has allowed the states to issue an additional 0.5% loan to the GS6DP, including the issuance of GS6 compensation. Accordingly, Odisha can borrow Rs 2,557 crore. Whether or not to take out this loan will depend entirely on the state government.
