New Delhi: The Union government today issued a tenth installment of GST compensation to states. Another Rs 4,000 crore has been disbursed to 23 states and three Union Territories. A total of Rs 70,04 crore has been handed over to the states ten times. Out of this, Odisha received Rs 2,340.34 crore. The central government is lending money to the states by borrowing from them as compensation cannot be raised due to the effects of the corona epidemic. Special arrangements have been made with the Reserve Bank of India for this. This time, Rs 6,000 crore has been brought in at an interest rate of 6.1527%. The first installment of GS6 compensation was paid on October 23. Subsequently, the next installments were issued on November 2, 6, 23, December 1, 4, 14, 21, 28 and January 8, 2021. The states will be given Rs 1.10 lakh crore as compensation. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Accordingly, Odisha can borrow an additional Rs 2,956 crore.
