New Delhi: Virat Kohli is now considered one of the best batsmen in the world. Cricketers have speculated that the batsman has already crossed many milestones and will set many more milestones before his retirement. Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh recalls some of his first meeting with Virat Kohli recently. In a 2008 match between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Harbhajan described the incident in which Kohli hit Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya with a six. Prior to the IPL auction, he knew about Virat Kohli from Lalchand Rajput. In the IPL, Harbhajan was the captain of Mumbai and Sachin Tendulkar was sitting outside. In the match, Kohli came forward and hit Jayasuriya’s ball. Even though a great player like Jayasuriya bowled him out, Kohli had no fear. “So he was shown to have future players in the country,” Harbhajan said in an interview. Similarly, Irfan Pathan also praised Kohli, saying he was enjoying everything inside and outside the field. But he never avoided cricket. His focus was on cricket. “That’s why he is now the best cricketer in the world,” he said.
