New Delhi: A total of Rs 2,526 crore in GST was collected in Odisha in November this year. This is 7 per cent more than the Rs 236 crore collected in November last year. Similarly, GST collection across the country has risen to more than Rs 1 lakh crore for the second consecutive month. In November, the country collected Rs 1,04,63 crore in GS7. Last October, GST of Rs 1,05,155 crore was collected. This year, the GST was 4.7% higher than in November last year. Such encouraging increases in tax collection are seen as a major sign of economic recovery. While the performance of the economy in the second quarter of the current fiscal year was higher than expected, the central government was encouraged, while the GST collection was encouraging, further boosting the government’s enthusiasm. In November this year, the central GST of Rs 18.18 crore, the state GST of Rs 25,590 crore and the integrated GST of Rs 51,72 crore were collected. A total of Rs 4,292 crore has been collected for SES.
