New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress is facing a series of shocks ahead of the Assembly elections in West Bengal. Today, five senior Trinamool Congress leaders joined the BJP in Delhi. These are former minister Rajiv Banerjee, who resigned from the Trinamool Congress, daughter Vaishali Dalmia, daughter of MLA and former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmia, Rudranil Ghosh, MLA Prabir Ghoshal and former mayor of Howrah Municipal Corporation. The leaders have been joined by Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah. BJP leader Mukul Roy and BJP in-charge of West Bengal Vijay Kailashargiya were also present at the amalgamation ceremony, which was held at the residence of Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. The five leaders were earlier rumored to be joining the BJP during Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to West Bengal. However, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has canceled his two-day visit to West Bengal following the bombing of the Israeli embassy in Delhi. The four leaders joined the BJP in Delhi after Shah’s visit to West Bengal was canceled.
