Bhubaneswar: Reliance Jio launched mobile services in India four years ago today. At the time, very few people thought that Geo would be able to revolutionize the use of data in India in four years. According to a report by Ericsson Mobility, India’s mobile data traffic in 2015 was 30 GB per month, while in 2020 it increased by 1,800 per cent to 400 crore GB per month.

In the last four years, Geo has reached 80 million mobile subscribers in India. Similarly, the cost of one GB of data ranges from Rs 175 to Rs 200 in 2017, while according to the Tire Telecom sector performance report, it has gone up to about Rs 12 per GB. Similarly, voice calls have doubled, increasing from 36 minutes per month to 612 minutes per month, according to a TRA report. Mobile data has been helpful in everything from work to home or online classes or online shopping.
