New Delhi: Janib Dal United (JDU) MP Haribhansh Singh has been formally elected to the Rajya Sabha for the second time on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament starting today. Rajya Sabha Speaker and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu formally announced today (Monday) that Haribhansh Singh has been formally elected Speaker of the Rajya Sabha.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP JP Nadda nominated JDU MP Harbhansh Singh as the NDA candidate for the post of Rajya Sabha Vice-Chairman, backed by Thawarchand Gehlot, one of the MPs. Later, Haribhansh Singh was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Rajya Sabha in a verbal vote. Edited is commendable.
