New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today set another record. Modi, the 9-year-old, has the longest running term as the country’s first non-Congress prime minister. Earlier, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the non-Congress prime minister for a maximum of 224 days. The BJP’s IT branch tweeted that Modi had broken that record today.
Modi ranks fourth among the longest-serving prime ministers in the country. Jawaharlal Nehru has been in the Prime Minister’s post for a maximum of 18 years and 24 days, while his daughter and Indira Gandhi are in second place. Indira served as Prime Minister for 11 years and 59 days. Manmohan Singh is in third place behind Indira. Manmohan has served as Prime Minister for 10 years and 7 days.
