CUTTACK: An unfortunate incident took place today at SBI Colony in Cuttack’s Shelter Square. The body of the mother-daughter was recovered from the house, while the mother is suspected to have committed suicide after killing the 6-month-old girl. The deceased was identified as Bansmita Ojha, 33, and her 4-month-old daughter. The girl’s bloody body was found inside the house, and her mother was found hanging from a fan. Police did not immediately say whether it was a homicide or a suicide. Police said the body would be sent to the morgue tomorrow for autopsy while the body was kept inside the house. Her husband, Bhaskar Ojha, works as an engineer at JICA. Bansmita was on maternity leave for 6 months. At this time he was at his father’s house and returned to Cuttack five days ago. But he was still on leave. Everything was fine this morning. Bhaskar was off duty after eating. In the evening, his neighbor knocked on the door, but no one opened it. The neighbor left, thinking that Bansmita was asleep. Neighbors were suspicious that Banasmita had not opened the door after repeatedly knocking on the door for two or three hours. So after breaking the door and entering the house, the girl’s bloody body was lying on the ground, while Bansmita was hanging from her clothes. Police and Bhaskar were immediately notified. Bidanasi police on hearing the news reached the spot and sealed the house. “The rescue squad wasn’t called for him,” she told the Associated Press. According to police, the 9-month-old baby’s neck was found to have been cut off with a sharp weapon, while Bansmita committed suicide by wearing a cloth. According to neighbors, Banasmita’s 5-year-old daughter is now living with her father. After the youngest daughter was born, she had a major brain tumor. That’s why the baby had surgery. But Bansmita and Bhaskar were living in depression as the disease did not get better. It is alleged that the ambassador provided the information to Hussein. The body will be handed over to the family tomorrow after autopsy.
