Bhubaneswar: The Regional Office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has prepared an annual loan scheme of Rs 1,10,735 crore for Odisha for the financial year 2021-22. This is 22.5% larger than the 2020-21 plan. This time around, Rs 7,80.80 crore has been earmarked for the agricultural sector, Rs 41.6.10 crore for the MHSMEE and Rs 6,285.8 crore for the SHGG sector. The 2021-22 Annual Loan Scheme accounts for 42% of the agricultural and theoretical sectors, while MSMEs account for 38%, exports for 4%, education for 1%, housing for 5%, and SHHGG for 6%. NABARD has called for more debt to be brought to crop diversification, animal husbandry, fisheries and self-help groups (SHHGGs). Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari unveiled the loan scheme at a state credit seminar today. He called on banks to provide longer-term loans to livestock, poultry farming and fisheries. He told banks to move to areas where there were no banks. NABARD has identified an investment of Rs 403 crore in rural infrastructure. Rs 527.8 crore in irrigation, Rs 2083.11 crore in rural communication, Rs 336.25 crore in warehouses, Rs 293.75 crore in agricultural infrastructure, Rs 42.83 crore in animal husbandry, Rs 57.7 crore in fisheries and Rs 142 crore in social infrastructure projects. In his welcome address, CGM4C Udayabhaskar of NABARD said that the state has formulated an annual loan scheme with a thorough examination of the needs of various sectors.
