Kolkata: BJP president JP Nadda arrived in Kolkata last night to launch a statewide proposed ‘rath yatra’ ahead of the West Bengal assembly elections. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress is set to launch a two-day bike rally in Nadia district on Saturday afternoon. Nadda will also launch a BJP campaign in Nadia district at about this time. Nadda arrived in Kolkata for the scheduled road show and public rally on Saturday, but doubts have been raised about obtaining permission from the regional administration for the ‘rath yatra’ campaign. The grassroots Congress campaign, which officially kicks off in Chapra today, is titled ‘Jana Samarthan Yatra’. The Trinamool Congress rally in Krishnanagar will end with a rally in Palasi. The BJP has said that there will be a ‘rath yatra’ even if the police do not allow it. He will then go to Krishnanagar and address a public meeting in Dhubulia.
