Tiger census will now be held every year in Odisha. The condition of tigers will be monitored throughout the year through camera traps. PCCF Sushant Nand gave this information in the press conference. In the state’s first tiger census report published yesterday, there are 30 tigers and 8 tigers in the state. Out of that, there are 27 tigers and 8 tigers in Shimilipal, while the presence of one tiger each in Keonjhar, Parlakhemundi and Hirakud forest is clear.
There are 13 black tigers in Shimilipal. Wildlife PCCF said the number of black whales is increasing due to inbreeding. To solve this problem, it is planned to bring tigers from other places and release them in Shimilipal. NTCA and Wildlife Institute of India have been contacted for this.
There is not a single great force in the seven cells. Complete relocation of the population within the sanctuary will be planned with the release of tigers in the Satkoshia Tiger Project. After the increase in the number of tigers in Shimilipal, there is a great force in search of new territory. Therefore, Greater Shimilipal landscape is being developed including Keonjhar, Hadgarh and Kuldiha.
