Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India has not yet announced a date for the by-elections in the Pipili assembly constituency. However, the party has already begun preparations for the by-elections. The directive was signed by Manas Mangraj, General Secretary (Media Affairs). Earlier, a committee headed by Congress executive president Chiranjeevi Bishwal had formed a committee. Who will be the party candidate in Pipili; He is the chairman of the committee. However, no such committee has been formed by the Bharatiya Janata Party or any leader has been formally appointed. However, the party’s Puri MP candidate, Patra, has been making frequent political appearances. The late MLA Pradeep Maharathi was elected to the Legislative Assembly four times from the Pipili constituency. He had considerable influence in this seat. The BJP had beaten Maharathi in the last assembly elections. Congress slipped to third place here. Maharathi won by a margin of 15,074 votes. If he wins this seat, the team will score a hat-trick. As the BJD has already won both the Bijapur and Patkura seats, Pipili will sign that there is still no one equal to BJD chief Naveen Patnaik. If the party does not perform effectively, Congress workers will be more disappointed before the panchayat and municipal elections and the possibility of the party turning its backs on key leaders cannot be ruled out. This election has become the most important for the BJP. After the BJD snatches the Balasore seat, the BJP will have to win the Pipili seat in order to get back its previous number and Patiara in the Assembly. Probably a factor as to why they’re doing so poorly. The BJP has been conducting frequent programs in Puri district for the past few days. However, Ashit, who was the party’s candidate in the last general election from Pipili, is now the BJP’s district president and has a strong presence in the region. The by-elections are very important for his own political career. For all these reasons, the politics of the Pipili constituency is in a state of turmoil. Just as it is difficult for the BJP to hold this seat, so it is for the BJP and the Congress. For more than three decades, the Pipili constituency has been in the hands of two families. Pradeep Maharathi from the Janata Dal and later from the BJD, and Yudhisthira Samantaraya from the Congress, were the candidates. In the last election, Mr. Samantaraiah withdrew from the election at the last minute. Now it is only natural that the leaders who are working against this family should be active. This is said to be the secret behind the BJP’s vote multiplier.
