Bhubaneswar: The Punjab National Bank (PN7B) ATM at Patia Chowk has remanded two accused from Vishakhapatnam in connection with the robbery of a Rs 2.4 million ATM machine. They were, Samarjayat Singh and Jafar Siddiqui. A special team of Commissionerate of Police appeared before the court of the SDJM in Bhubaneswar today. The Infocity police had applied for a five-day remand for further questioning in connection with the ATM robbery. But the court granted it for three days. Both have been sent to Jharkhand Jail and will be remanded in custody for questioning from tomorrow. Both are expected to be taken to the scene by police. Notably, on October 10, the miscreant cut the PN7B ATM counter7 in Patia Chowk with a gas cutter and took the money. Police investigated but found no trace of the looters. In the first week of November, a miscreant cut off an ATM counter in Vishakhapatnam with a gas cutter and looted millions of rupees. Visakhapatnam police arrested Samrajyot and Jafar from Bengaluru after investigating the incident. A team went there after the Commissionerate of Police found out that the two accused were involved in the Bhubaneswar robbery. The two stayed in two hotels in the Patia area and rented a car. Police also found out that the gas cylinder was rented to cut the ATM machine.
