Rourkela: Soma Mandal, SAIL’s first female chairperson, visited Rourkela for the first time. Arriving in a special plane today, he was greeted at the airport by RSP CEO Deepak Chhatraj, all the executive directors and other senior officials, including the president of the officers’ union. Soma Mandal graduated with a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Rourkela NIT on the 18th. Prior to joining SAIL, he served as Director (Commercial) at Nalco for three years from March 2017 to March 2018. This is her first visit to Rourkela since taking over as the first female chairperson of the State-owned Enterprise Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) on January 1. Currently, the Rourkela steel plant is growing rapidly in terms of production, productivity and profitability. All eyes are on the cell president’s two-day visit.
