Patna: Senior Bihar BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has been unanimously elected to the Rajya Sabha. Sushil Kumar Modi has gone to the Rajya Sabha following the death of Lok Bilas Paswan, founder of the Lok Janshakti Party. Sushil Modi was unanimously elected to the Rajya Sabha on the last day to withdraw his nomination papers. Apart from him, independent candidate Shyam Nandan Prasad filed his nomination papers, which were rejected during the probe. It is learned that Sushil Modi was unanimously elected to the Rajya Sabha. His credentials were reportedly handed over to Sushil Modi in the presence of a number of dignitaries, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore and Renu Devi and state BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal. BJP’s Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi were made deputy chief ministers. At the time, the BJP wanted to send Sushil Modi to the Rajya Sabha. That being said, Sushil Modi may get a seat in the Union Cabinet.
