Bhubaneswar: The 139th founding day of the Congress was celebrated by the PCC at the Congress building today. On the occasion, PCC president Niranjan Patnaik hoisted the party flag and administered the oath of office to the service party workers to be guided by the principles of the Congress. Mr. Patnaik said that many dignitaries had formed the Congress party to protect the people of India and imprisoned them to liberate the country from independence. Many freedom fighters have sacrificed their lives. India’s democracy is unique in the world, but today it is in danger. Farmers are frustrated. Unemployment is on the rise. The future of students is bleak. Women spend the day in fear and insecurity. Similarly, Odisha is getting poorer day by day. Despite ample opportunities for the development of the state, the government has completely failed. Mr Patnaik called on every Congress worker to take the country and the state forward.
