Bhubaneswar: As the by-elections in the Baleshwar Sadar constituency approach, the equation in party camps, especially in the BJD camps, is taking a new turn. After a few days of skepticism, the BJP’s candidacy for Subhasini Jena was slowly coming to an end, but new developments have recently begun. In the past, the BJD has resumed talks with former minister Raghunath Mohanty, the top minister in district BJD politics. Mr. Mohanty lost the Basta constituency to the BJP in the 2014 elections after losing his ministerial post and losing his ticket in the 2014 elections due to a dispute with his daughter-in-law. Naturally, in this year’s by-elections, the BJP should put him at the forefront of the campaign. However, his participation in a recent party meeting has sparked speculation. After veteran politician Arun Dey, BJD has also started efforts to bring Raghunath Mohanty back to the party. So it is a question of how Raghunath will return to the BJD when he gets a ticket from the wife of the leader Rabindra Jena who had to leave the BJP. Efforts are also being made to dispel doubts about it. Efforts are underway to persuade Raghunath Mohanty, one of the opposition leaders, to be brought back, just as Arun Dey was included in the party to corner former MLA Jeevan Pradeep Das, known as Rabindra’s opponent within the party.
