Bhubaneswar: The BJP has been recognized as the main opposition party in Odisha after a long political battle. In the last 2014 Lok Sabha elections, nearly 1 crore votes were in favor of the BJP. Eleven MLAs from 33 Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have been elected to the Legislative Assembly. Similarly, in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP got 21 per cent of the vote, up from 34 per cent in 2014 and the BJP in the 2014 Assembly elections to 18 per cent, while in 2019 it increased to 32 per cent. “In the coming days, we will get 50 per cent of the vote and decide to form a BJP government in Odisha,” he said, urging activists to attend the BJP’s first state executive meeting in Delhi via video conference.
