New Delhi: India’s unemployment rate fell again in June and July after rising sharply in August. According to data released by the Center for Monitoring of the Indian Economy (CMIE), the country’s unemployment rate rose to 6.1 per cent in the last week on August 14. In urban areas, the unemployment rate is 7.6 percent, while in rural areas it is 7.6 percent.
In April and May, the country’s unemployment rate surpassed the record 23 percent for the crown. But after the lockdown in June and July, economic activity in the country increased. According to a recent report by the International Labor Organization (ILO), the downturn in the economic downturn has killed at least 4.1 million young people in India.
