Balipatna: Floods have brought misery to Bhubaneswar suburbs. The floodwaters have receded in the Balipatna area after floodwaters from the Vargabi river Achyutpur dam and Baichua river from the Kushvadra river. As a result, five panchayats in the Balipatna block have been particularly affected. Many villages have been cut off from the outside world due to flooding. Hundreds of families are stranded. People’s homes have also been flooded. The floodwaters in the village are flooding. Similarly, more than seven schools have been flooded. As a result, people’s plight is on the rise. “Especially people have problems with food and drinking water.” So people have left their homes and gone to higher ground to save their lives.
Farmland, on the other hand, is submerged by floodwaters. Farmers in the area are frustrated by the threat of crop failure. Today, the administration has provided 3 machine-powered boats for flood-hit villages.
Jaydev MLA Arvind Jhali visited Kurunjipur, Dorbang, Tarboi, Kulantira, Darda, Bindha and Achyutpur Kaz today and held talks with the locals. More than 30 villages are flooded. Communications from the Rajasthan to Balipatna, Nishchintpur, Garia and Madhuban to Alisi, Ghasandhati and Indolkusiari roads have been cut off due to floodwaters. In some areas, people are unable to leave their homes. Arrangements are being made by the administration to evacuate the floodwaters.
