MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank of India has kept the repo rate unchanged at 8% for the third time in a row, said RBI Governor Shaktikant Das on Friday. The ‘Monetary Policy Committee’ (MPPC) unanimously voted to keep the repo rate unchanged. The Reserve repo rate was also unchanged at 3.35%, Das said. The MPPC has decided to keep the monetary policy at a low interest rate as needed. The system will continue at least until the end of the current financial year and next year to bring back sustainable growth rates. In addition, the decision will also help to keep inflation under control by eliminating the effects of Covid-16, he said. But overall, inflation will be high, he said.
