New Delhi: The Central Government has announced the results of the Transparency Survey 2020. Indore is once again at the top of the competition. Indore is in the spot for the fourth time in a row. Gujarat came second in the race and Nabi Mumbai of Maharashtra came in third. Maharashtra has the highest number of cities with a population of less than 100,000. In the second and third places are the state’s Saswad and Lonabala, respectively.
The best performing states were divided into two categories in terms of performance. Out of these two categories, Chhattisgarh tops the first category while Jharkhand tops the second category.
Jalandhar Cantonment has been declared the Clean Cantonment Board of India, while Varanasi has been declared the best Ganga city.
Shahajanpur in Uttar Pradesh is at the forefront in terms of maximum citizen participation in cities with a population of over one lakh.
Earlier, Civil Aviation Minister Hardik Singh Puri presented the 124 best performers in cities and states at a virtual event called “Swachh Mahotsav”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the function and announced the award.
