Two ships arrested. Following the order of the Hon’ble High Court for immediate arrest, the Paradip Marine Police has arrested the two ships concerned. The said two ships are currently within the restricted area of Paradip Port and the High Court has given such an order while hearing a case related to a dispute over a maritime agreement.
The case was filed by Alphad Marine Limited while the Ocean Jade and Ocean Morganite ships were in Paradip. The concerned companies, demanding about Rs 428 crore, had approached the court and pleaded for justice by saying that the two ships should be arrested immediately and that their property would be damaged if they were not arrested. After the order came from the Hon’ble High Court, the Marine Police and the Kujang Sub Judge came and issued an arrest notice to the said ship which is within the restricted area of the port and directed it not to leave the place until further orders.
These two ships work as support ships. They are engaged in supplying various necessary goods to large ships on long voyages.
