Bhubaneswar: Voting for the Tirthol and Balasore by-elections has ended peacefully. State Chief Electoral Officer Sushil Kumar Lohani informed that both the district administrations had taken all necessary measures to cast their ballots. Voting began at 7 a.m. and continued until 6 p.m., due to the favorable weather. By evening, the turnout in Baleshwar constituency was 81% and in the Tirthol assembly constituency 4.6%. In both constituencies, there were two ballot boxes, two control units, and 15 viviparts. ECI engineers immediately corrected it. Similarly, there were errors in 2 ballot units, 2 control units and 4 vivipats in different booths during the voting process, and the engineers were immediately rectified and implemented. The district administration has taken all precautionary measures to ensure that the polling booths are free in all polling booths in the two Yak constituencies. Mr Lohani said the final turnout would be announced tomorrow.
