New Delhi: The debt moratorium case was heard in the Supreme Court today. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued on behalf of the government during the hearing. He said the waiver of interest on the debt would put a financial burden of Rs 4 lakh crore on the government. The trial is set to begin today. The apex court has ruled that the case will be heard again tomorrow. The case was heard in a three-judge bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan. During the hearing, the Solicitor General said he had already presented the matter to the government in writing. The circular issued by the Reserve Bank was issued on our orders. In addition, efforts were made to keep the suffering of the people to a minimum during the Karona epidemic. It would be a mistake to say that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) did nothing. “We can’t ignore public health during the epidemic,” Mehta said.
